The West Chicago Public Library District hosted its 10th annual Mother & Daughter Tea in honor of Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 12, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Mothers, daughters, grandmothers, and aunts, along with girls ages 5-12, joined the fun this year by coming dressed in their most glamorous attire as the program room was transformed into a Hollywood tearoom.
“We are thrilled to once again offer this time-honored tradition here at the West Chicago Public Library District,” said Administrative Librarian, Melody E. Coleman. “Our staff work hard to make this a special occasion, and I’m especially excited that one of our own Library family – Julia LaPlaca – is able to showcase her talents to set the perfect mood.”
There were delectable treats to nosh as guests were entertained by harp music played by Library staff member, Julia LaPlaca. Games for the girls and lots of photo opportunities throughout made it a delightful afternoon for all.
